Is one eSIM enough for payments, maps and a two-week trip?
I am visiting Shanghai, Xi'an and Beijing. What backup connection would experienced travelers prepare?

I plan to use maps, translation, Alipay and train bookings every day. I would like to know whether travelers keep roaming or another eSIM as backup.
My current setup
A 20 GB travel eSIM, offline hotel screenshots and downloaded translation packs.
What I am unsure about
Whether I should also activate international roaming for the arrival day and SMS verification.
