The tiny booking-name mismatch that delayed hotel check-in

My booking omitted my middle name. Keeping the confirmation number and passport-ready spelling made the fix much faster.

The hotel had the reservation, but the booking name did not exactly match my passport. It was resolved, though it took longer than expected.

What helped

I showed the booking confirmation number, the payment receipt and the exact passport spelling. The staff could then locate and update the reservation.

Before you travel

Use the passport name on bookings and save the hotel phone number plus Chinese address offline.
